Job Purpose:

The Baltics Head FRA Operations is the primary FRA representative for the country leadership. Coordinates with the process teams at NGSC for the design, delivery and efficiency of the FRA services and thereafter leading the primary liaison to the respective Divisional CFOs, BPA (Business Planning & Analysis), BD&L (Business Development & Licensing) and commercial business partners. The Baltics Head FRA Operations is a partner who is accountable for the successful development and delivery of solutions aligned with country business objectives.  

This key finance role has the responsibility to ensure compliance with country legislations, regulations and corporate needs and secures accurate reporting of financial information to stakeholders in accordance to IFRS, Statutory and Novartis standards & policies.  

Major Accountabilities:

Performance Management and Service Delivery 
  • Accountable for FRA matters and covering finance services to support local legislation and statutory requirements, whilst ensuring quality of financial accounting and management information for internal / external reporting that includes holistic view of full BS / P&L and SOX 302 / 404 reporting & NFCM, including remediation actions where relevant.
  • Executive review of balance sheet reconciliations, engagement in WD2 closing meeting & quarterly BSR.
  • Lead country FRA Ops engagement, sharing relevant issues with/and obtain feedback from / to the CCFO and divisional Finance heads to ensure integration, effectiveness of service delivery, transformation programs and compliance.
  • Collaborates effectively with FRA Operations in NGSC, Region and Hub, furthering the strategic goals and communicates to all staff and key stakeholders.
  • Provides functional guidance from an accounting perspective for business transactions, incl. ownership APP/ APM for Technical / Complex Accounting items.
  • Lead country operational and project teams to achieve country/region/global targets and effectively implement digital finance and process transformation.

Manage activities in the area of Statutory, Tax and Treasury related topics 
Statutory Financial Compliance & governance 
  • Local legal entity financial compliance governance & management
  • Local contact for statutory audits
  • Drives the preparation and submission of the annual statutory financial report
  • Local management of statutory tasks as required in collaboration with NGSC
  • Shareholder resolutions e.g. dividend distributions
  • ICO-agreements (incl. TP, NBS costs monitoring, etc)
  • Grants, incentives, Donations
  • Finance coordination

Treasury
  • External liaison with banks
  • Main contact for TCM and Group Treasury
  • Central bank reporting or similar reports
  • Pension plans and local financial asset management
  • Local bank guarantees, cheques, local cash-pools
  • FX management
  • Exposure management, credit management
  • Legal entity funding outside standard TCM, ico-funding

Tax
  • Local contact for Tax authorities
  • Manage local tax control framework
  • First point of contact for unexpected audits, raids
  • Local transfer price documentation input
  • Prepares the monthly & quarterly update for the profitability calculation
  • Ensure tax review of significant contracts
  • Insurance

Other
  • Legal entity restructurings, divestments, acquisitions, minority shareholders
  • Profitability management, FF contact
  • Manages and advises the business with special business set-ups, projects (e.g. NTO, BD&L, M&A, etc.)
  • P&O Finance contact for social security and payroll matters
  • Accountable for all country deliverables concerning NBS related projects (eg. LDC, Enterprise Assets, etc)
  • Coordinates the Fixed Assets count in collaboration with NGSC/ Hub teams

Key Performance Indicators (Indicate how performance for this role will be measured)

  • No unsatisfactory audit rating and timely execution of action plans.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction of FRA Operations delivery through qualitative feedback and process specific KPIs.
  • Stable services incl. those of outsourced operations, no control issues and timely execution of control remediation.
  • Successful continuous improvement of process in collaboration with NGSC and roll out of new technologies.

Ideal Background:

Education: (minimum/desirable)
  • University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or Chartered Accountant / MBA desirable 
  • Lean/ Six Sigma Certified preferred 

Languages:
  • Local (country) language (written and spoken)
  • English (written and spoken)
  • Other languages are a plus  

Experience:
  • 3+ years of financial experience, with in-depth functional expertise - good understanding of local regulations, tax, statutory, & IFRS  
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multinational organization 
  • Experience with diverse groups of people, handles conflict situations effectively and builds formal and informal relationships  
  • SAP knowledge  
  • Experience in managing projects driving performance improvements  
  • Experience engaging, influencing and leading internal and/or external stakeholders  
Monthly gross salaryGross/mo  € 3500

Additional information:  Salary gross range for this position 41000.00 EUR – 48000.00 EUR per year
