As the Financial Controller in our dynamic international organisation, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations and providing strategic insights to drive informed decision-making. You will oversee a team of financial professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure financial stability, compliance, and growth. Your leadership will contribute to the achievement of our company's financial objectives on a global scale.
The roles primary responsibility is to provide financial direction & support, for our international operational hubs. The role is supported by outsourced accounting and in-house payroll teams.
Traveling to territories that we operate in might be required and should not exceed 5% of your work time.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and/or equivalent degree;
- 10 years of progressive experience in finance roles combined with a minimum of 5 years in managerial or supervisory positions;
- Proven experience in financial accounting, control, and reporting under IFRS and local GAAP;
- Experience gained through ERP system changes, departmental re-organisations and expansion in a fast-paced, changing environment will be considered an asset;
- Proven experience within an international, multi-cultural work environment;
- Proven experience to train and develop staff, along with the ability to manage upwards and downwards;
- Comprehensive advanced Excel skills;
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages. Experience with Microsoft Navision and Power BI is strongly desired;
- Confident to communicate and present to both internal and external stakeholders and maintain relationships;
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working proactively in a deadline-driven environment;
- Comfortable to work without direct supervision as well as being part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment of new or amended accounting/business systems, processes, and procedures, to maintain and strengthen the control environment in line with Group;
- Preparation of entity management information (MI), including, but not limited to monthly management accounts and analysis, KPIs and cashflow reporting. Such MI reporting will be key in assisting the Head of Group Reporting and the business in key strategic and operational decision-making;
- Be the main point of contact for the Business, ensuring operational finance support through MI reporting and other support as required;
- Take the lead on all financial accounting matters, ensuring correct accounting in compliance with GAAP and financial control through balance sheet reconciliations in line with Group;
- Be the main point of contact for the external audit process of all Latvian subsidiaries, ensuring that the relationship with the local auditors is as smooth and efficient as possible;
- Management of CSPs. Be the main point of contact for the Accounting CSP, ensuring all deadlines are met while delivering high-quality output in compliance with GAAP principles;
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and fostering professional growth;
- Allocate tasks, set priorities, and ensure the team's effective performance in areas such as accounts payable, cost control, and financial reporting;
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and the global finance team (group finance and treasury; business control; revenue assurance);
- Liaise with external partners, auditors, banks, and state/in-country financial institutions as needed.
