This is the job:
- Lead Data Management and Reporting work stream, accepting ownership: define and maintain requirements in the backlog, outline plans, execute as planned, maintain required documentation;
- Analyze available data (databases, log files and unstructured data) and define data models;
- Build consolidated and analytical data layers for the most critical business areas (e.g., customers, exposure and risk, payments, etc);
- Automate some parts of financial reporting;
- Provide data extracts and develop reports;
- Build data extracts and reports requested by the business;
- Build Data Management and Reporting platform and improve the set up to meet the business goal: fast, accurate, transparent, reliable analytical KPIs are available for the teams to run the business more efficiently. What you will do: collaborate with business representatives to define requirements, collaborate within IT Team to define tools and setup environment, define data models and build ETLs, implement monitoring, implement BI and Reports, continuously enhance platform if/when data sources change, maintain the platform.
Besides main responsibilities we expect Data and Reporting Architect:
- Makes plans and commits on the plan, ensure delivery according to agreed time lines;
- Not afraid to make decisions;
- Have good knowledge of the system and business processes therefore have good understanding of the data;
- Actively participate in ongoing improvements proposing the efficient technical designs architecture improvements, quality control and automation measures in order to deliver the best possible quality within the time-bound working environment;
- Have advanced level in English - reading/speaking/writing;
- Expose good communication, negotiation, facilitation and problems solving skills;
- Aware of risks and is able to mitigate those;
- Focused on success.
You have:
- Excellent data analysis skills and proficient SQL knowledge;
- Data modelling skills converting business requirements into data models and repositories;
- Ability to work with large data sets and data distributed across various data sources such as databases (microservices and OLTP), log files, heap of unstructured data in files of various types;
- Experience building DWH and ETLs (have theoretical and practical knowledge);
- Experience building reports and have hands-on experience with various reporting tools and platforms (Pentaho, PowerBI, QlikSense, etc.);
- Experience tuning database, SQL and ETL performance;
- Familiar with various IT Tools: Code Versioning, Build and Deploy, Log Aggregators, Monitoring Tools, DevOps Tools, Testing Tools, etc.;
- Good excel knowledge;
- Ability to define Data Management and Reporting platform architecture according to best practices;
- At least 2 years of experience in relevant or similar role;
- Experience coaching others and leading junior developers;
- Good understanding of software development life cycle and software architecture;
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and problem solving skills;
- Strong leadership skills;
- Alignment with modern technologies and frameworks.
Seen as advantage:
- Experience working with Public Clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure), SaaS and PaaS;
- Experience building ETLs in AWS or Azure.
