We are looking for a motivated and experienced Chief Accountant with extensive knowledge of UK and Latvian accounting and tax legislation.
Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping and Financial accounting in Latvia
- Communication with tax authorities in Latvia
- Submission of yearly financial statements to the authorities
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly accounting reports for the management
- Payroll administration and reporting
- Regular financial monitoring
- Regular monitoring of internal reconciliations
- Performing other daily accounting tasks
- Liaison with auditors, external accountants, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
- General monitoring of all accounting activities across all jurisdictions the company operates in
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accountant
- Knowledge of IFRS standards
- Degree in accounting, finance or economics
- Experience of minimum 2 years in the Fintech industry (desirable)
- ACCA (preferably) or AAT certification
- Complete understanding of LV accounting and taxation principles
- Knowledge of Latvian labor law
- Perfect knowledge of English, Latvian, and Russian languages
- Good technical knowledge of MS office and accounting tools
- Hardworking, with a high sense of responsibility
- Experience of overseas accounting (UK, US) will be considered an advantage
