Presently Stonewin is looking to fill the role of Tax Accountant at our office in Riga (Latvia).
The successful candidate will be part of our finance team, with the key responsibility in processing US Sales and Fuel Excise tax filings, communication with US tax authorities, tax data maintenance and processing the information in our accounting system. You will be required to closely cooperate with accounting and other teams in the company on tax related matters.

The successful candidate(s) will receive proper training in the initial stage, but are expected to work independently after assuming your responsibilities following the training. 

• Preparation and submission of monthly US Sales and Fuel Excise Tax filings on timely
manner;
• Tax data maintenance and processing in our accounting system;
• Tax booking reconciliations in our accounting system;
• Research on tax reporting requirements in different US states where the company is
operating;
• Research on additional licensing requirements in various US states;
• Updating US Sales and Fuel Excise Tax rates as published and updated on the respective
US State Revenue Services official websites;
• Communication with the US States’ authorities on tax filing requirements, reporting follow-
ups, tax refund claims, and more;
• Ensure that tax return payments are received well and booked accordingly;
• Other ad-hoc tasks as may be required in the course of fulfilling your responsibilities. 

• BSc degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other related areas;
• Work experience in tax accounting is considered as being advantageous;
• Fluency in English, strong communication skills in the English language (oral and written);
• Detail oriented personality, who enjoys working with the numbers, and a strong urgency to
achieving set goals;
• Willingness to accept new challenges, learn, comfortable to work under pressure in a
highly dynamic and culturally diverse globally operating company;
• Strong MS Excel skills;
• Strong interest in Accounting, understanding of US Taxes is a strong benefit;
• Eagerness and ability to learn fast, and prioritize task;
• Time-management and organization skills;
• Highly responsible and pro-active;
• The successful candidate should feel comfortable to certain levels of overtime requirement,
and from time to time working evening shift to synchronize with the US time zone.
