The Position:
The Ubiquiti Riga office is looking for a talented and self-driven C++ developer to join a rapidly growing team to focus on next generation user interface development for upcoming consumer and enterprise products. We expect you to bring your experience, enthusiasm and creativity wherever you go and put them in the work you do. You should be able to think out of the box when finding solutions to brand new problems and make things work when the solution is not straightforward.
Main tasks:
- Develop and maintain UI/UX targeted applications on embedded systems with screens
- Analyze and solve technical problems within the teams related to product
- Participate in UI/UX decisions during development.
Responsibilities:
- Work as a part of the global team of firmware, hardware engineers and designers to develop cutting edge products and technologies
- Willingness to learn new things on a regular basis.
Knowledge and Experience:
- 3+ years development experience with modern C++11
- Experience with Linux CLI
- Experience working with Make and CMake
- Knowledge of Git version control system
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Experience that is a Major Plus:
- Networking and Transport Protocols: Familiarity with networking concepts, transport protocols (e.g., UDP, TCP), and socket programming is essential for optimizing media streaming performance, handling NAT traversal, and addressing network-related challenges
- WebRTC Knowledge: understanding of the WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology, APIs, and protocols, signaling mechanisms, media codecs, and transport protocols used for real-time communication over the web
- Media Codecs and Standards: audio and video codecs used in WebRTC, such as H.264, H265, AAC and Opus
- Real-Time Communication Concepts: Understand the concepts related to real-time communication, such as media synchronization, jitter, latency, packet loss, and bandwidth management
- Experience with nodejs
- Experience working with various build systems and toolchains
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M microprocessors
- Experience with Python
