Are you an experienced Data Engineer with strong Databricks expertise who is ready to take the next step into people leadership? We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Data Engineering Lead to build and develop our new MarTech Data Engineering Team, delivering reliable data products and services on Azure Databricks.

As Data Engineering Lead, you will combine technical leadership with people leadership, supporting the growth, capability development, and engagement of the chapter members while driving engineering excellence across the MarTech domain.

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineering Lead to coach, lead and mentor data engineers while fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and driving continuous improvement.
You bring several years of practical experience in end-to-end data engineering, preferably in a lead role within a large-scale cloud environment. You enjoy helping others grow and are passionate about creating high-performing engineering teams.

About the team

The CRM & Marketing Solutions IT unit delivers omni-channel personalization services for our Nordic customers using platforms such as Bloomreach Engagement CDP and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
We develop data products and services on Azure Databricks with high expectations for reliability, scalability, availability, and accuracy. We operate in an Agile and DevOps environment and work closely with both business and IT stakeholders across the Nordics and Baltics.
Our teams are friendly, supportive, and self-driven. We value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning while building modern data and marketing technology capabilities.

What are you going to do?
  • Build and lead a distributed team of talented data engineers across the Nordic countries and Latvia.
  • Support the professional growth, engagement, and development of chapter members.
  • Set high standards for data ownership, quality, reliability, and delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and learning-oriented engineering culture.
  • Promote sound engineering principles, including reusability, automation, testing, security, and scalable data products.
  • Actively contribute to solution development while coaching and mentoring engineers in Azure Databricks.
  • Enable engineers to architect, build, and operate cost-efficient, production-grade data products, pipelines, and lakehouse services with a focus on trusted business-ready data.
  • Establish chapter-wide engineering practices covering data quality, governance, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and operational excellence.
  • Drive standardization, modular design, scalability, and cost efficiency across the Azure data platform.
  • Build strong engineering capabilities and communities of practice across teams and domains.
What do we expect from you?
You are proficient in:
  • Azure Databricks (PySpark/SQL)
  • DBT
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Cloud storage solutions
  • Modern data pipeline development
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to make complex technical concepts understandable and actionable for both engineers and business stakeholders. In addition, understand one of the Baltic languages to collaborate in an international environment.
In addition:
  • You have experience in Data modelling, Lakehouse architecture, Streaming, Data governance, Data quality and platform engineering.
  • You are passionate about Agile development, continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of learning, curiosity, and professional growth.
  • You hold a university degree in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience.
We offer
  • Monthly salary: €5500-7500 gross, if you are employed in Lithuania; €5000-6500 gross, if you are employed in Latvia; €6000-7500 gross, if you are employed in Estonia*. Additionally, there is an annual bonus. (*Please note that the specific amount varies due to different employment taxation in Baltic countries.)
