To strengthen our engineering team, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with sound expertise in process equipment design, applied thermodynamics and turbomachinery. The position focuses on basic engineering, the definition of technical design requirements and the technical evaluation of concepts and engineering deliverables prepared by contractors and technology providers

Main responsibilities:

Apply thermodynamic principles to the basic engineering of carbon capture plants.
Define the basic design requirements for process equipment, including columns, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and separators for CO2 capture, purification and conditioning.
Define the design requirements for compressors, blowers and pumps used in CO2 processes.
Perform techno-economic assessments of alternative plant concepts
Integrate carbon capture plants into the existing processes and infrastructure of the cement plant.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Plant Engineering or a comparable engineering discipline.
Several years of professional experience in industrial mechanical and plant engineering
Sound expertise in process equipment design, applied thermodynamics and turbomachinery.
Experience in the design and specification of process equipment, compressors, blowers and pumps.
Solid knowledge of CE conformity assessment, the EU Machinery Directive and the Pressure Equipment Directive.
Strong technical and commercial judgement combined with an independent, structured and solution-oriented approach.
Business-fluent English (for daily communication with the project team and business partners), a confident professional manner and the ambition to advance the decarbonisation of the cement industry.
