Latvia MGI Tech, a part of BGI Group - one of the world’s leading genomics organizations, is looking for a full-time System Administrator.

MGI Latvia Team is growing!

Due to the intensive growth of the MGI Latvia Team, we are looking for an IT system administrator to help us establish and develop our local network environment.

Main responsibilities:
1. Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
2. Administration of the storage environment.
3. Analysis and integration of new technologies and IT services.
4. Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, and security updates.
5. Support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.
6. Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root causes, and provide technical support when needed
7. Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups, and system logs.

Requirements:
1. Servers, data storage, and network hardware.
2. Network protocols and security policies.
3. Operating systems Windows (Linux will be considered as an advantage).
4. Experience with backup solutions.
5. Software package management systems for bioinformatics software installation, such as miniConda for Python, etc. (will be considered as an advantage).
6. Experience with virtualization solutions.
7. College degree or above in IT.
