What we are looking for
We are expanding our research and development team and are looking for a Product Development Project & Sourcing Manager. Product priorities are set by the company's founders; this role owns turning them into delivered products. You will plan and run our product development projects from prototype to serial production, and source the components, tooling, and materials that go into them from suppliers in Latvia, Europe, and Asia. You will report to the CEO and COO and work closely with the product designer. We are a small, close-knit team with good humour (debatable on some days) and high standards.
What we are looking for
- Higher education in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science, product design or a related technical field. A degree in business, logistics or supply chain management with relevant hands-on product experience is also welcome. Candidates without a degree in these fields will also be considered if they can compensate with relevant hands-on experience.
- Comfortable with using AI tools and automation in everyday work.
- Experience bringing a physical product with custom-made components from external manufacturers from prototype to serial production.
- Experience working directly with overseas suppliers: quotations, tooling, lead times, sample approval.
- Working knowledge of import procedures, customs documentation and supplier payment terms.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to keep a project on schedule across several parties.
- Fluent English, spoken and written. Latvian for day-to-day work with the production team.
Considered an advantage
- Practical familiarity with injection molding, rubber components, technical textiles, carbon fiber or electronics assembly.
- Experience with Notion, Odoo or comparable tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Background in the audio, broadcast or camera-accessory industry.
What you will do
- Roadmap and planning: turn agreed product priorities into a sequenced roadmap with owners, budgets, milestones and delivery dates.
- Team and delivery: coordinate several projects, allocate capacity, remove blockers and hold people accountable.
- Pace: shorten development lead times, resolve decisions quickly and escalate risks before deadlines slip.
- Cost and sourcing: own target product costs, run quotations and negotiate with suppliers in Europe and Asia, and assess total cost including tooling, freight, defects and delays.
- Production readiness: coordinate samples, approvals and production handover against agreed quality requirements.
- Purchasing administration: purchase orders in the ERP system, customs clearance with the forwarder and broker, supplier invoices matched and handed to accounting on time, and the supplier payment schedule.
