IT Systems Engineer – 1st & 2nd Level (German-speaking)
Location: Riga, Latvia | Hybrid work (up to 40% home office)
Important: Fluent German is mandatory for this position.
Candidates without German language skills will not be considered!
Your Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-level IT support to external business and private customers via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
- Take ownership of incidents and service requests from initial diagnosis through resolution and closure, ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs and priorities.
- Administer and maintain customer IT environments, including Windows clients, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, VPN, firewall, and VoIP issues, escalating complex cases to specialized engineering teams when required.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights, and maintain core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Perform system configuration, patch management, software deployments, and routine maintenance to keep customer environments secure and reliable.
- Monitor customer systems, investigate alerts, and address issues affecting service availability and performance.
- Contribute to customer migrations, installations, hardware replacements, and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and communicate progress, technical issues, and solutions clearly to German-speaking customers.
- Identify and implement improvements to customer infrastructure, IT security, support processes, and service quality in collaboration with the team.
Your Profile
- IT qualification or equivalent practical experience, with at least 3 years in IT support, system administration, or system engineering.
- Fluent German and good English, both written and spoken, are essential.
- Strong practical knowledge of Windows clients, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID.
- Good understanding of networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Group Policy, and access management.
- Experience with system monitoring, patch management, and troubleshooting, supported by a sound understanding of IT security and backup concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills, a structured approach, and clear technical documentation.
- A customer-focused mindset, clear communication, and ownership of tasks, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in an IT service provider environment, virtualization, firewalls, endpoint management, or PowerShell is an advantage.
- Willingness to occasionally work outside regular hours to support international customers.
